HOW TO REGI STER YOUR BUSINESS NAME WITH CAC WITH LESS CASH
I guess you know that for you to run a business properly, you would need a business name. This registered business name gives your business a kind of uniqueness that you can not imagine. See for instance Dangote group, whenever you hear it you do not need somebody to tell you who owns it. That is what I mean by the word “UNIQUE”.
So many people have been exploited for lack of information on how to get their business name registered.
That is what I will be revealing to you in this section.
To register your business name, you need to do that through CAC. This is the acronym for Corporate Affairs Commission.
The commission was established by the companies and allied matters act to regulate the formation and management of companies in Nigeria
The steps you take when you want to register your business name either as a company as a Venture or Limited Liability Company is very easy that even a 15 years old child can do it.
STEPS:
The first step you take is to go to any of their offices around but if you do not know anyone around you, you can find out by logging into www.cac.gov.ng/pages/stateoffices.htm.
When you walk in there, you ask them to give you an AVAILABILITY FORM which costs about N200. The form would be given to you where you are supposed to fill in details like...

TYPE OF BUSINESS YOU WANT TO REGISTER:
In this form you would be allowed to choose three (3) business names in case any one of them is not available, the other would be chosen. After submission, it takes about two weeks for this business name to be approved or not.
So with this, for you not to come back after every two weeks to submit a business name and then it gets rejected, you need to be creative. Come out with a business name that is not common. Eg Global Feature Int’l, Gemec Nigeria Venture, E-global Consult, Danny-kay Venture etc
When after two weeks the result finally comes out and it has been approved, you have to go fill other forms to complete your registration.

This form cost about N4, 500. After filling it, you submit it and then in about two days time or more, you will come and get your certificate as well as some other vital documents which you will need when you want to open an account for the business.
